![]() Southlake Stars & StripesĮach year, thousands gather in Town Square and nearby parks to participate in Southlake’s annual Stars and Stripes event. In addition to the live music, there will also be food and kids' activities, with the night ending with a fireworks show beginning around 9:45pm. The City of McKinney is getting their Independence Day festivities kicked off the night before with a concert and fireworks at Gabe Nesbitt Community Park. And it all takes place on Historic Oak Street with all of its restaurants, shopping, and more. The FREE family fun event includes: bounce houses, face painting, contests, giveaways, a concert with Emerald City band, and a giant fireworks display. People from all over the country come to check out the Addison Airport Airshow and the incredible fireworks display. Kaboom Town is probably the most well-known Independence Day celebration in DFW and has been around since 1985. Then head to Five Star Complex at 6:00pm to enjoy concerts, a watermelon eating contest, and a fireworks finale at 9:30pm. Liberty by the Lake actually starts in the morning with a 5K, 10K & 1 Mile Fun Run and then continues on with a parade at 11:30am. Kick off Independence Day weekend with a Party in the Park at Andrew Brown Park East in Coppell! Enjoy a variety of entertainment including live music by Micky and the Motorcars and The Spazmatics, lawn games, and festive photo ops! Then there will be an 18-minute firework show set to the tune of patriotic music beginning at approximately 9:45 pm, and The Spazmatics will take the stage once again for a half-hour set following the fireworks to “sing” everyone home! Liberty by the Lake (The Colony) You are welcome to bring your own blankets, lawn chairs, and shade structures - they just ask that you lower your shade structure after sunset to to improve visibility for the fireworks show.
